Between football tailgates, hayrides and of course Halloween there are plenty of reasons to party during the fall season. No party would be complete without fancy cocktails! But how do you make everyone happy and still have time to enjoy yourself? The secret is using only a few ingredients, a great garnish and the appropriate glassware!
When beer lovers come together there is a very good chance, they would prefer to have their beer served as is, untouched in a nice frosty glass. Or at the very least the proper type of glass, such as these personalized beer glasses! However, you can easily make the party feel more fall and more festive with a few simple steps. For a Fall Shandy, combine equal parts quality apple cider and your favorite pumpkin beer. We suggest checking the offerings of your local brewery for a pumpkin or seasonal special. For a great pumpkin beer that is widely available we like Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin or Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale. Garnish with a slice of apple and a cinnamon stick.
Say goodbye to those light and fruity whites and hello to something, deep, dark and a little mysterious. Red wine shines through the fall and winter season. While complimenting everything from venison to a coq-a-vin, the best red for your party depends on your guests. If you aren’t sure what they prefer ease off the boldness and go with a more center of the road choice. Portrayed in movies and books as the choice of vampires and witches, red wine is a great choice for a Halloween party. Want to make it extra special? Create a quick and easy fall sangria.
You will need:
- 1 bottle of fruity red wine
- 2 apples sliced
- 2 oranges -1 cut and juiced, the other sliced
- 1 pear sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
- 4 star anise, plus more for garnish
- 1 cup apple cider
- ½ cup of brady or Cointreau
- Optional: Club Soda
Simply combine all ingredients in a pitcher and refrigerate 1 hour before guests arrive. Pour over ice in red personalized wine glasses, top with club soda for a fizz and garnish with a cinnamon stick and star anise. If this is for a Halloween party we suggest our Gold Skull Stemless Wine Glasses!
Assuming you aren’t a master mixologist, you can still make an easy fall drink for your cocktail loving friends. With Halloween right around the corner, this is the time for spirits! Remember to keep it basic. For anyone who likes an earthy cocktail with clear spirits, such as martini drinkers, simply swap the olives with a pickled beet. The red from the beet with look like a bloody heart. A pickled beet is also a spooky garnish for a vodka soda or vodka tonic. If your guest prefers whiskey, bourbon or rye, invest in some high-quality cocktail cherries. When sliced in half and combined on a small cocktail skewer, they also give the appearance of a bloody heart and add a sweet note to a Manhattan or Old Fashioned. Serve in a martini glass or one of our personalized rock glasses.
No matter who is coming over and what they like to drink, creating a fall beverage that looks fancy is a snap! From football games to spooky parties planning ahead with the right glassware and garnishes can take your fall party to the next level!
