Happy October! It's the month of pumpkins and ghost stories, golden leaves and of course, Halloween! Whether you're throwing a full-scale Halloween party this month, or simply hosting a gathering with friends we want to help you get in to the spooky spirit! So, we're going to show you how to set a sophisticated Halloween-themed table with some of our favorite items from our Halloween Shop!
1. Set the Theme
First on the list, pick your color scheme. As we favor a timeless, classic look (no matter the season) we decided to go with a neutral pallet of black and white, with pops of pumpkin orange. To create our centerpiece we used a cake stand to display our Halloween-themed beverage, and surrounded it with white and orange pumpkins from Home Goods. We wanted to make our themed glassware the central focus of our table, because it gives a clear Halloween-look without looking cheesy, which we love. We kept our place-mats, plates, table runner, and napkins black and white as well to help our orange accents really make a statement!
2. Trick-Up Your Treats
This does not mean go on a Pinterest deep-dive to look up overly complicated cupcake decorations and spend hours baking only to end up with the ever-dreaded "Pinterest-Fail." Instead, choose some crowd-pleaser treats like chocolate-chip-pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie, and a variety of Halloween candies and let your decorations do the heavy lifting. Display your treats on a festive serving board like our Personalzied Spirit Board Slate Serving Tray. This is perfect for making any treat scream Halloween without having to go crazy with your food decorating skills.
If you want to take your charcuterie-display to the next level though, take inspiration from the Chris Loves Julia Blog on making a show-stopping charcuterie arrangement, or the William Sonoma Blog for a Halloween candy charcuterie arrangement!
3. Pick Your Poison
No Halloween get-together is complete without a themed beverage! Serve up your most creative Halloween drink in one of our Halloween decanter sets along with some dry ice to create a spooky display your guests will love. Then, come up with some fun drink names like, "Witch's Brew" "Black Magic" or "Spider Cider" and display them on one of our themed Chalkboards!
